History De Paauw was founded in 1956 as a waste paper and textile collector. In the Eighties it gradually transfered into trading of plastics waste after which in the Nineties Roy de Paauw took over the company from his parents and has expanded this activity extensively. This was initially limited to trade Purchasing throughout Europe, selling worldwide. In 2006 we started our own plastics recycling factory where we processed part of our purchased merchandise into raw materials ourselves. From that moment on we have grown steadily. Not only in volume but also in professionalism and quality. Nowadays we are able to produce large volumes of consistent quality regranulates to customer specification. Producer Our recycling production takes place in Hengelo and Enschede. We are particularly focused on the polymers PP, HDPE, LDPE and SBS. This can be either Post Consumer Regranulate (PCR) or Post Industrial Regranulate (PIR). In Hengelo, 4 Erema extruders in 5 shifts (24/7) run more than 35,000 MT of regranulate annually. In Enschede we produce regrind from rigid plastics with 2 shredder/grinding mill installations and also regranulate with 2 large(er) Erema extruders. The annual capacity in Enschede is 10,000 MT of regrind and 20,000 MT of regranulate. Laboratory We produce our regranulates according to the specifications of our customers. The product is custom made. Our laboratory has a very important role to play in this. Our experienced laboratory staff, just like chefs in a Michelin star restaurant, are continuously developing recipes based on available ingredients. All this is not possible without investing in innovation and research & development. A healthy curiosity about new possibilities and techniques is part of our DNA. We will continue to drive and stimulate this development. International trade Our trading activities are still an important part of our company. Over the years we have built up a large network of suppliers throughout Europe, so we know very well which types of materials can be found where and in which volumes. This combined with our global contacts in plastic recycling makes that we sell more than 60,000 MT of plastic waste annually to selected and certified plastic recyclers.
